This is a torpedo recovered from the UB 61 - a U-boat of the same design as UB 57. It is believed to be a G6 torpedo, but there's not a lot left to go on! It would probably have been one of these that sank the T.R. Thompson.

Welcome to the Meridian Divers Adopt-A-Wreck blog. Dedicated to the wreck of the T R Thompson which sank on Friday 29/3/1918 following torpedo attack by UB57 off the Sussex(UK)coast. The Group would be pleased to receive ANY information about the wreck or dive reports . Any comments are sent to the Blog Admin for inclusion & editing if necessary.
